Dear CFANS Faculty and Staff Colleagues,

CFANS has set aside some funds to support community building among faculty and staff interested in organic agriculture.  Rob King will help coordinate that effort along with Carmen Fernholz and Jim Riddle – Organic Research and Outreach Coordinators at the Southwest Research and Outreach Center – and Helene Murray, Executive Director of MISA.

The first step in this community building process will be an informal gathering of faculty and staff with interests in organic and sustainable agriculture.  This is scheduled for Thursday, January 29 from 3:00 to 5:00 in 306 Borlaug Hall.  We’ll start with a round of introductions and short descriptions of areas and issues of interest followed by a short discussion of future research and outreach initiatives and possible community building activities. We’ll conclude with some locally produced snacks and beverages.
