The courses in the Sustainable Agricultural Systems minor emphasize systemic approaches to analyzing current agricultural production systems in the U.S., as well as environmental, economic, and social conditions that influence changes in agriculture. Courses designed specifically for this program integrate biology, ecology, agriculture, sociology, history, philosophy and economics.
The Colloquium in Sustainable Agriculture provides a forum for students, faculty, and members of the agriculture community to discuss issues of importance.
The Student Organic Farm Planning Course gives students the opportunity to use a sustainable farm-oriented business planning tool, thus gaining organic business experience to augment their hands-on field experience.
