Internships provide students with the opportunity to:
- Increase their understanding of the goals, concepts and issues of Sustainable Agriculture
- Develop decision-making skills by observing how solutions to complex problems in agriculture are made
- Interact with members of the agricultural community and form working relationships
- Gain experience with alternative farming systems, producer and community education, alternative marketing, and policy making and implementation that will contribute toward the development of sustainable agriculture
Opportunities to intern are currently available with farms, CSAs, organic producers, non-profit organizations, public agencies and more! An internship is currently required for both the graduate and undergraduate minors in sustainable agriculture. More information regarding how to register for credit, how to find funding for internships and how to get an internship approved is available in the Handbooks for undergraduate and graduate students. If you have any questions while you are researching internship opportunities, please contact the Program Coordinator.
