Current Operation

We are a 460 acre Biodynamic farm with cow/calf herd and CSA, located in the lakes area of north central Minnesota. It is a sustainable farm operation with cattle, crops, forest, warm season grass pastures and vegetable/raspberry production all complementing each other.

Internship Description

Interns become part of farm and garden activities going on at the time. This can involve planting, weeding, mulching, watering, spraying, harvesting, and delivering CSA shares in Park Rapids and Fargo/Moorhead. Or it can mean replacing guards and sickle sections on the mower conditioner, dragging fields, raking hay, moving round bales, building fence, picking rocks, spraying BD preparations 500 and 501, burning pastures, etc.

Intern Skills/Experience

At least one season's experience on a farm or garden. A commitment to sustainable practices, a desire to be immersed in a Biodynamic farm organism, a reverence for Nature, a willingness to learn new concepts and skills, and the energy to work with the rhythms of the season.

Internship Timeline

Days are coordinated with the weather and work that needs to be done. Nature does not take weekends off. Preference is given to students who come for the entire season.

Internship Stipends/Benefits

On-farm housing is available, with farm food and a basic monthly stipend.
