| Organic agriculture is a booming industry. Sales grew by 20% per year during the 1990s, and growth has not slowed down since the start of the 21st century. Consumer demand for organic food is exceeding the supply. Organic processors are looking for farmers to produce organic milk, grains, meats, eggs, fruits and vegetables. There are wide open opportunities for farmers to go organic!
The University of Minnesota, the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, and other agricultural service agencies in Minnesota are responding to the demand for organic food by offering support for farmers to transition to organic production. See our Contact People and MN Programs pages in this section for more information.
