Part-time Faculty in Sustainable Communities Program 6/30/2008 7:20 AMPart Time Faculty Advisor Position Master of Arts in SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS & SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES PROGRAM Seeking candidates with theoretical and practical experience in the start-up and on-going leadership/management of social enterprise ventures and/or socially responsible business endeavors. Specialized interest may include:
§ Entrepreneurship in the business and social sectors;
§ Marketing socially responsible and environmentally friendly products and services;
§ Governance of socially responsible/sustainable organizations;
§ Socially responsible leadership/management of a workforce and operations;
§ Finance, accounting or raising capital for socially responsible organizations; and
§ The interconnections of social responsibility, environmental sustainability, social oppression/social justice and positive social change.
Successful candidates must travel to the Goddard College campus (in Plainfield, Vermont) for the October 11-20, 2008 and
April 15-24, 2009 residency and pre-residency faculty meetings.

Each student’s program of study is self-designed and the faculty advisor role is one of mentoring/advising. Advising occurs during residency and over the course of 5 packet exchanges over the approximately 15 week semester.

Terminal degrees are required for most faculty positions; teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level; and participation in an on-site residency and subsequent supervision and written exchange with independent study students of diverse learning styles. Cross-disciplinary approach with experience and commitment to student-centered, progressive pedagogy is important.
Part-time workload and compensation vary depending on student enrollment and assigned program. Salary will be approximately $6,432 to $9,601 per semester. Faculty are eligible for dental and life insurance, and long-term disability.
