The position deals with quantification of antibiotic uptake by vegetable plants from manure-applied soils. The person will be responsible for managing all phases of the project. This includes assisting collection and composting of manure; assisting in setting up and maintenance of vegetable plots; undertaking antibiotic analysis of soil, manure, and plant samples; conducting a survey of vegetable growers for their manure management practices, and writing of reports and research papers. Qualifications include a Ph.D. degree in Soil Chemistry, Chemistry, Horticulture, Agronomy, or related fields. The person must have some experience with HPLC, LC-MS and other equipment dealing with analysis of organic compounds. Salary will be competitive.
