Internship Program for Sustainable Agriculture Minor Students — Both Undergraduate and Graduate
Internships provide students with the opportunity to:
Opportunities to intern are currently available with farms, CSAs, organic producers, non-profit organizations, public agencies and more!
By looking through the list of site descriptions and current opportunities, you can get an idea of one or several experiences that you might like to pursue. Phone or email the contact person to find out more about specific details of the internship project, such as a description of internship activities, skills/experience required/internship timeline, and whether or not a stipend is provided. Visiting a site before you commit to interning there is a good idea. Also, looking at more than one potential site can also be beneficial. Be prepared to participate in an interview when you get to the point of indicating interest in working for one of the individuals or organizations.
Meeting with your University Faculty Advisor for the Minor is also an important step in choosing an internship site. A faculty advisor may have additional sites or specific projects they'd like you to include in your internship experience. Pre-approval of your internship is required by a faculty member in order to receive credit for the internship. If you need help determining who would be a good faculty advisor given your interests contact the program coordinator for suggestions on which faculty members to talk to.
An internship is currently required for both the graduate and undergraduate minors in sustainable agriculture. More information regarding how to register for credit, how to find funding for internships and how to get an internship approved is available in both the sustainable agriculture minor packets for both undergraduate and graduate students. If you have any questions while you are researching internship opportunities, please contact the Program Coordinator.
