Green Lands, Blue Waters is a long-term comprehensive effort whose mission is to support development of and transition to a new generation of agricultural systems in the Mississippi River Basin that integrate more perennial plants and other continuous living cover into the agricultural landscape.

Internships with Green Lands, Blue Waters provide unique opportunities for undergraduate students to interact with Learning Groups consisting of producers, nongovernmental organizations, state agency personnel and University scientists, on efforts related to developing and implementing new cropping systems and associated industries and enterprises.

Each area of work (perennial crops, healthy meats, renewable energy, etc.) provides a range of opportunities to gain experience and develop skills in areas of interest including research, business planning, community development and education. Students will work with a project leader to define the goals and expectations of their project.

Current internship information and application forms are available on the Green Lands, Blue Waters website.
