Current Operation

We are a 460 acre Biodynamic farm with milk cows, a beef cow/calf herd, chickens and 120-member CSA garden. Located in the lakes area of north central Minnesota, the sustainable farm operation balances cattle, crops, forest, warm season grass pastures and 100-share CSA.

Internship Description:

Interns work primarily in the CSA garden, planting, weeding, mulching, watering, harvesting, boxing and delivering CSA shares in Park Rapids, Detroit Lakes, and Fargo/Moorhead. We also have a RSA (Restaurant Supported Agriculture). Time on the farm involves working with animals, replacing guards and sickle sections on the mower conditioner, dragging fields, raking hay, moving round bales, building fence, picking rocks, spraying BD preparations 500 and 501, burning pastures, etc.

Intern Skills/Experience

At least one season's experience on a farm or garden. A commitment to sustainable practices, a desire to be immersed in a Biodynamic farm organism, a reverence for Nature, a willingness to learn new concepts and skills, and the energy to work with the rhythms of the season.

Internship Timeline

April 10 - Oct 10. Work days are coordinated with the weather. Nature does not take every weekend off.

On-farm housing is available, with farm food and salary.
